Heyyy everyone,

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Rachel Brenner and I’m from northwestern Pennsylvania. I’m 22 and I currently work full-time as an EMT for a 911 ambulance service.

Sooo, I guess this is my official announcement for committing to the World Race! I’m sure MANY of you have already heard me talk about my excitement for this trip.   I plan to write much more about this decision and my heart behind it in the near future, but until then, I’ll give ya little recap on the past few years and basic overview of me 🙂

I graduated high school in 2018. I was the kid that hated ANYTHING school related and I had zero desire to go to collage. But somehow, that’s exactly where I ended up lol. I was more excited to pursue collegiate volleyball than anything else, but to my surprise I ended up LOVING the competitive classroom atmosphere as well. In May of 2020, I graduated from Mercyhurst University with my associates in Business sports management. After graduation, I took an accelerated EMT course and since then, I’ve been working full-time as an EMT for a 911 ambulance service. Life is crazyyy but good!

Although I enjoy what I do, there is something else that captures MUCH more of my heart and attention. For yearsss now, God has given me a passion for foreign missions. It’s a passion that never seems to fade, even in the midst of ALL the joyful and stressful seasons of life.

My family is pretty involved with a ministry in Mexico. We make a couple trips a year to one specific Pima Indian village and a few other villages occasionally. Personally, I have been going for about 7 years now and I can confidently say it’s my FAVORITE thing about my life. In 2019 I went myself and stayed with our missionary friends for the summer. That time consisted of traveling throughout the Copper Canyon, visiting Indian villages, evangelizing, connecting with people, setting up medical clinics, and countless other things. My heart was changed that summer and God gave me a crazy love for missionary life that I NEVER dreamed I would have.

I know God CAN and WILL use me wherever he has me, but I also know my participation in foreign missions is playing a significant role in my life’s purpose. It brings more joy to my life than anything else! I believe the World Race will be a great fit and I’m exited to share more of my story in future posts 🙂

So anywaysss…. I hope that gives you some context and a better understanding of where my heart is coming from. Thank you so much for setting aside time to read this. Your prayers and encouragement mean more than ANYTHING as I’m preparing for this crazyyy ride. Follow my blog if you want to stay updated on my trip’s progress 🙂
